Starting on August 9th, the Halo Championship Season One will begin, hosted by Carolina Gaming League. Each month until October 11th, there will be three regular season, seeding tournaments and one Monthly Showdown leading up to the season finale.
Each regular season, seeding tournament will be double-elimination with a $100 prize for first place and teams will also earn seeding points for the final tournament. First place will receive seven points, second place gets five points, third gets four points, and the remaining teams will receive two points. Winners of each seeding tournament will receive seeds 1-3 (based off of total points) for that Monthly Showdown and guaranteed, free entry. Entry for these tournaments will be $10/team.
The Monthly Showdowns will have a $20/team entry fee and a $500 prize pool. They will have a single-elimination bracket with Team Slayer-only matches and will require a minimum of 20 teams. Points for these tournaments will be doubled (1st – 14, 2nd – 10, 3rd – 8, etc.) The winners of the two Monthly Showdowns will auto-qualify for the season finale and receive free entry.
Teams can also purchase a season pass for $85. The pass includes entry into all regular season seeding tournaments and Monthly Showdowns.
The season finale will have a $1,000 prize pool. More details TBA.
