The G1 Throwback Showdown was a two-day, $10,000 FFA tournament hosted by Gamers First. Some of the scene’s top pros were invited to compete in the finals along with four players who earned their spot by competing in a qualifying tournament. Players competed in four rounds of matches with randomly chosen lobbies and were awarded points based on their placement. The top eight players after the four rounds then competed in a final round where traditional FFA scoring was used.
