In case you’ve been living under a rock these past few months, you might not have noticed all of the roster changes and announcements that have taken place. That’s okay, because I’m here to give you an update on what has been happening in the pro scene.
ITB (Into the Breach) really kicked things off this year with an implosion of the org stating that they couldn’t continue on financially because of a misuse of company funds. I won’t bore you with the details, but some of the remaining staff decided to pick up the pieces and started Team Nemesis. They went on to pick up the dropped ITB Halo roster featuring Wutum, SLG, GloryGG, Snipedrone, and their coach, Wonderboy!
In other news, the most dominant team of 2024 decided to split up and go their separate ways. Bound and Legend left Spacestation Gaming and opted to move over to Optic Gaming. Eco and Stellur stuck it out and picked up Lucid, who was dropped from Optic Gaming, and also added Snakebite, who left FaZe to seek greener pastures. This team really looked good on paper, but have struggled in scrims online. Only time will tell if they can perform on Lan.
Optic Gaming split with three of their members: starting with Trippy, Penguin, and Lucid. Formal was the only one to remain, and he got just what he wanted. He picked up Bound and Legend from Spacestation and proceeded to acquire Renegade from the defunct FaZe roster. This team is considered the “god squad” and they have proved every bit of it in scrims and the first HCS online open.
TSM joined the HCS partnered team ranks picking up the former PURE squad and Soulsnipe who was dropped from Shopify Rebellion. This team has been looking as well as some of the others in scrims and look to be at least a Top 4 team this season.
Complexity continues their stride in the HCS with a solid squad featuring Sparty, Huss, Mental, and Precision. Ashes will continue to coach this season in hopes of breaking top 4 and proving themselves on the battle field.
Cloud 9 announced their newest team this past week, with another contender for top 4-6. Manny, BubuDubu, Sab, and Sceptify are looking to grind it out this season. Fans are no doubt excited to see this squad in action and what they can do on Lan.
Triggers Down has made a comeback in name only, but don’t underestimate this squad of formidable players. Descendant, Ezho, Kuhlect, and Lethal look to prove what they have on Lan alongside their coach, Hoaxer. They are currently looking for an org to help to them reach their full potential this season, so if you know anyone, hit them up!
Last, but not least, Luminosity came back for another season of Halo with their newest roster consisting of, Piggy, Avucy, Yakznn, and Mortally. Piggy, who has been pro for the past few years, joins some of the top Am players in hopes of upsetting the top teams. Will they make pool play, or will they have to make it out of the open bracket to face the best of the best? We will have to wait and see!
Well, now you are fully updated on the rosters of some of the top teams in the league. Be on the lookout on their performance by watching them on LVT streams or on Lan in the HCS Majors!
